Subbuteo's answer to 'Match of the Day'

Who are we? We are a father and son combo, who play the hobby together. Chris has been playing subbuteo since the 70's, and Dave got his first set in the 90's (a Hasbro Premier League set) which began his love of the game. Between them it had been of interest, until Chris started it up again a few years ago, deciding to embark on a stadium project when he became semi-retired. After laughing at him for a couple of weeks, Dave then joined in and neither have looked back.

From what started as playing a couple of games of subbuteo on a weekend, to then messing around with goal highlights over the 2020 lockdown, it snowballed to a full league table and project. Then came the recording of games to send to one another, which then snowballed to edited footage with crowd noises and later commentary, to later winding up big Chris on camera during a game, to then becoming a YouTube channel.

It's been one of the best things we've done together, and during the 2020 lockdown it gave us something to sink our teeth into. One of the best parts of it, though, has been sharing it with others and meeting other people through the project. Everyone has a story, or a collection, or a game they've played, and it's been an amazing shared adventure.
